METROHEALTH SYSTEM, CLEVELAND STATE UNIVERSITY AFFILIATE
The MetroHealth System and Cleveland State University have joined together to form an academic teaching center for CSU's health sciences students. Under the agreement, MetroHealth will provide clinical experience for qualified students in physical therapy, occupational therapy, medical technology and gerontology.
The collaboration is for both undergraduate and graduate education and may be implemented as early as the 1992-93 academic year. The agreement also includes classroom teaching, staffing, a joint advisory council and research opportunities.
A task force worked for nearly a year in developing the affiliation agreement which binds two institutions long recognized for their leadership roles in Greater Cleveland.
EDITOR'S NOTE: A ceremony marking the official signing of the affiliation agreement will be held at 2:30 p.m. June 23, in MetroHealth's board room. Henry Manning, president and CEO of The MetroHealth System and Dr. John Flower, president of Cleveland State University, will be available for questions.
CONTACT: Jim Gosky of The MetroHealth System, 216-459-3699 or Ed Mayer of Cleveland State University, 216-687-3557.
