METRO-GOLDWYN-MAYER PROMOTES NOTARIDES TO EXECUTIVE VP FOR LICENSING AND MERCHANDISING

 SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. (MGM) announced today the promotion of Susan Notarides to executive vice president of Licensing and Merchandising.
 Notarides, formerly senior vice president, will oversee worldwide licensing of MGM's and United Artists' properties for diverse merchandising applications as well as licensing of film clips and stills. Included in these properties are such recognizable favorites as the famed MGM Lion logo and the Pink Panther, products from forthcoming MGM films such as "Blown Away" and "Getting Even With Dad" and films from the United Artists library.
 Her responsibilities also encompass all retail operations for MGM products, including the new exclusive studio store opening in 1994 at the company's Santa Monica headquarters and planned extensions into catalogue and computer on-line services.
 "With tremendous new opportunities created by the revitalization of MGM and the rebirth of United Artists, as well as new technologies and retail venues, we are greatly expanding our licensing and merchandising business," said Trevor Fetter, executive vice president and chief financial officer of MGM, who oversees the operation. "Susan has proven herself over many years to be an extremely capable manager of our licensing activities and a loyal employee of MGM."
 Notarides has been with MGM for 10 years, starting as a manager of the company's studio store on the Culver City, Calif., lot. The newly expanded licensing division will be based at the studio's headquarters in Santa Monica.
 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. is involved in the worldwide production and distribution of motion pictures and television programs through MGM Pictures, United Artists Pictures, MGM Worldwide Television, MGM/UA Distribution and MGM/UA Home Entertainment, among others.
