METRO DETROITERS PREPARE FOR MOTHER'S DAY

METRO DETROITERS PREPARE FOR MOTHER'S DAY
 WHO: Mom.
WHAT: Another year has passed and it's once again time to pay tribute to the woman who labored (literally) and gave you the nurturing support that made you what you are today.
An abundance of feature photo opportunities exist as metro Detroiters prepare for -- and celebrate -- this special day devoted to dear, sweet mom.
On the day preceding Mother's Day, local residents will hit the retail scene in search of the perfect gift that says, "I love you, mom."
 Catch the decision-making at:
-- Crowley, Milner & Company department stores in Birmingham, Farmington and the Livonia Mall, Detroit's New Center area, Tel-Twelve Mall, Westborn Shopping Center, Universal Mall, Macomb Mall, Lakeside Mall and the Wildwood Shopping Center in Flint. A silver-plated heart photo frame gift for mom will be given with each $25 purchase, and free gift wrapping will be available.
-- DIA Museum Shop at Twelve Oaks Mall, where artful books and "motherhood" sculptures are the order of the day.
Assumption Greek Orthodox Church will honor the oldest mother and the (newest) mother with the youngest child. A tradition since the church opened its doors many years ago, this service honoring mothers is truly beautiful. Assumption Church is at 21800 Marter Road (between Eight and Nine Mile roads) in St. Clair Shores. Church contact: the Rev. Demetrios Kavadas at 313-779-6111.
CONTACT: Angie Bournias of Creative Services, 313-964-4670, for the events.
