METHODIST HOSPITAL OF INDIANA UPGRADED TO 'Aa' BY MOODY'S
 43rd 'Aa' RATED HEALTHCARE INSTITUTION
NEW YORK, Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Effective Aug. 19, Moody's Investors Service assigned a "Aa" rating to $75,000,000 of hospital revenue refunding bonds expected to be issued by the Indiana Health Facility Financing Authority on behalf of Methodist Hospital of Indiana. In conjunction with this offering, Moody's is upgrading the rating on the outstanding portion of Methodist's Series 1986A and I bonds as well as its Series 1989 debt issued by Marion County Hospital Authority.
Moody's stated that, "The hospital's role as a major tertiary player in Indianapolis has provided it with stable admission trends and a generally favorable market position. This position should be enhanced by development of a primary care network which includes strategic placement of satellite offices as well as expansion of the hospital's managed care plan and delivery system. Financial difficulties previously experienced by the hospital's managed care delivery system have been resolved. Furthermore, overall financial performance has provided the hospital with strong cash flow and this, along with pension conversion funds, has enabled the hospital to generate sizable cash reserves, providing it with significant operating flexibility."
