 METALLURGICAL INDUSTRIES GRANTS LICENSE
 TINTON FALLS, N.J., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Metallurgical

Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: MTALA) today announced the signing of an agreement with Hoden Seimitsu Kako Kenkyusho Co., Ltd. (HSK) of Kawasaki, Japan to use its microplasma Metbond (R) powder welding process in Japan and the Pacific Rim countries.
The agreement calls for an initial technology transfer payment and royalties to Metallurgical based on a percentage of HSK's sales of products repaired or manufactured through the use of the Metbond process.
The patented Metbond process, operated by the company's Advanced Welding and Coating Services (AWACS) subsidiary, is a plasma transferred arc welding process which utilizes superalloy powder to provide low heat welding for jet engine components so that they can be welded without distortion, dilution or cracking.
Metallurgical Industries, Inc. provides turbine engine component repair services to major airlines and produces specialized refractory metals. HSK is well established in Japan as a repair facility for aircraft and power generating turbines. A licensee of Metallurgical's joint venture partner, the Sermatech International subsidiary of Telefex, Inc., HSK has close ties with Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.
