The company is also engaged in the development of toxic and hazardous waste treatment facilities in Mexico through its ownership interests in three Mexican corporations. The company also announced that plans to open a waste treatment facility in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, are progressing on schedule. The company anticipates commencing construction of this facility in the last quarter of 1992. The San Luis Potosi facility will be the first of multiple facilities the company intends to construct in Mexico.
The company announced that the closing of unprofitable commercial insulation contracting operations in 1991 has enabled the company's insulation contracting activities to operate profitably on a scaled- down basis at a time when revenues have been substantially reduced because of the recession and increased competition for available work. The consolidated loss, which was well within the expectations of management, results from the company's general and administrative expenses relating to the development of the waste treatment facilities in Mexico.
