MESABA AVIATION ANNOUNCES NEW SERVICE

 MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Mesaba Aviation today announced that it will begin scheduled airline service to University Park Airport located at State College, Pa., effective Jan. 31, 1994.
 The regional carrier said that it would provide three daily non- stop, round-trip flights to and from Detroit Metropolitan Airport utilizing 37-seat de Havilland Dash 8 aircraft. Mesaba operates a fleet of 25 Dash 8 aircraft in addition to 22 Fairchild Metro III and five Fokker F27 aircraft.
 "We are pleased to expand our airline services to University Park Airport," said Robert D. Swenson, president of Mesaba. "The State College region will benefit from direct service to Detroit and from the tremendous connecting opportunities available on Northwest Airlines through Detroit Metropolitan Airport."
 The regional carrier provides connecting airline services at Minneapolis/St. Paul and Detroit Metropolitan Airports. Currently, Mesaba serves 52 cities and 16 states, the District of Columbia, and one Canadian province.
