MESA HAS RECORD TRAFFIC IN MAY FARMINGTON, N.M., June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Mesa Airlines Inc.
(NASDAQ: MESA) today released its traffic figures for May 1992. The airline carried a record 143,686 passengers in May, a 103 percent increase over May 1991. Revenue passenger miles were up 98.1 percent to 30,169,000 and available seat miles increased 81.5 percent to 67,690,000. Load factor was 44.6 percent versus 42.5 percent in 1991.
"In May we experienced traffic activity that we usually don't see until the summer months which are traditionally our busiest months," said Larry Risley, president of Mesa Airlines. Mesa Airlines operates as an independent carrier out of its Albuquerque and Phoenix hubs and as a United Express carrier out of its Denver hub. Skyway Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary, operates as a code-share with Midwest Express Airlines out of its Milwaukee hub. Air Midwest is a wholly owned subsidiary operating as a code- share with USAir out of its Kansas City, Mo. hub. FloridaGulf, a wholly owned subsidiary, also operates as USAir Express out of a Tampa, Fla. hub. MESA AIRLINES INC.
