MESA AIRLINES REPORTS PASSENGER INCREASES FOR DECEMBER FARMINGTON, N.M., Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Mesa Airlines Inc.
(NASDAQ: MESA) today released its traffic figures for December. The airline carried 113,260 passengers in December which is a 63.9 percent increase over December 1990. This is the 33rd consecutive month of passenger increases for the air carrier. Revenue passenger miles increased 56.9 percent to 23,026,000 and available seat miles were up 63.8 percent to 53,039,000 as compared to the like time period last year. Load factor fell to 43.4 percent from 45.3 percent in December of 1990.
Mesa Airlines operates as an independent carrier out of its Albuquerque and Phoenix hubs and as a United Express carrier out of its Denver hub. Skyway Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary, operates as a code-share with Midwest Express Airlines out of its Milwaukee hub. Air Midwest is a wholly owned subsidiary operating as a code- share with USAir out of its Kansas City, Mo. hub. FloridaGulf, a wholly owned subsidiary, also operates as USAir Express out of a Tampa, Fla. hub. MESA AIRLINES INC.
