MESA AIRLINES' MARCH TRAFFIC INCREASES FARMINGTON, N.M., April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Mesa Airlines Inc.
(NASDAQ: MESA) today released its traffic figures for March 1992. The airline carried a record 138,141 passengers in March, an 84.1 percent increase over
March 1991. Revenue passenger miles were up
77.9 percent to 28,271,000 and available seat miles increased 78.8 percent to 65,164,000. Load factor was 43.4 percent versus 43.6 percent in 1991.
"March traffic was stronger than anticipated in all operations," said Larry Risley, president of Mesa Airlines. "We are hopeful this trend will continue." Mesa Airlines operates as an independent carrier out of its Albuquerque and Phoenix hubs and as a United Express carrier out of its Denver hub. Skyway Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary, operates as a code-share with Midwest Express Airlines out of its Milwaukee hub. Air Midwest is a wholly owned subsidiary operating as a code-share with USAir out of its Kansas City, Mo. hub. FloridaGulf, a wholly owned subsidiary, also operates as USAir Express out of a Tampa, Fla. hub. MESA AIRLINES INC.
