 MESA/BLUEMOON REPORTS RECORDINGS UPDATE
 BURBANK, Calif., Nov. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Mesa/Bluemoon Recordings

is proud to announce Mesa Recording artists Strunz & Farah debut release, "Primal Magic" as being selected for Billboard Magazine's No. 1 World Music Album of 1991. Says Mesa/Bluemoon President Jim Snowden, "'Primal Magic' has sold over 150,000 units in the U.S. and Canada. I would like to congratulate the members of Strunz & Farah as well as the fine staff of Mesa/Bluemoon for making this album a great success." The group is currently recording in Los Angeles -- new release (untitled) due March 1992. Monthly updates to follow.
Mesa/Bluemoon Recordings is pleased to present MR Productions.
Named for its founder, Max Roach, MR Productions will be releasing a multitude of projects for Bluemoon Records. These include The Max Roach Quartet, Double Quartet (featuring The Uptown String Quartet), the Uptown String Quartet, M'Boom, and The Max Roach Choir and Orchestra. Now available for review -- "To The Max," a two-disc compilation featuring tracks from the groups listed above.
The First Al Di Meola Electronic Project In 10 Years Available On
 Tomato Records.
Al Di Meola just recently celebrated success with his acoustic release, "World Sinfonia," coupled with a sell-out national tour. November marks the release of the electric project, "Kiss My Axe," an excellent example of Di Meola's musical trademark of rightfully refusing to follow current musical trends. Interviews are now available with Di Meola.
Andrew Tosh Carries On Father's Musical Wishes.
Being called a "torch bearer" is a blessing and a burden to reggae artist Andrew Tosh. "Make Place for the Youth/Tomato Mix," on Tomato Records (release Nov. 22) is the follow up to the Grammy- nominated release of the same name. All tracks are original with the exception of a cover of the Wailers' 1968 classic, "Small Axe." (The Tomato Mix features a bonus track, "Heathen Rage"). Tour in 1992, co-bill TBA.
Bluemoon Records November Releases Include Guitarist Steve Khan
 And Bassist Mark Egan.
"Let's Call This" features the superlative trio of Al Foster, Ron Carter and Steve Khan. Unlike his previous releases, Khan (former leader of the quartet Eyewitness) steps out of his fusion shoes for a "straight ahead" jazz feel. Egan releases "Beyond Worlds," also a debut for Bluemoon Records. Egan is known for his work with musicians Pat Metheny, David Sanborn, Michael Franks, Bill Cosby and Gil Evans. He also has worked alongside drummer Danny Gottlieb with the successful group, Elements.
CTI To Release "Afoxe" (pro Ah-fo-SHAY) Featuring Ernie Watts,
 Gilberto Gil and Sharon Bryant.
Producer Creed Taylor continues to embark on new and exciting musical styles. With "Afoxe," Taylor makes a statement by coupling the three most outstanding aspects of black music, jazz, urban and Brazilian. These three artists team together for an ethnic adventure that mixes the vocals of Bryant and Gilberto (separately) with the haunting saxophone of Watts. January 1992 release -- call for advance tapes.
