Meru Networks, Inc., (NASDAQ: MERU), Sunnyvale, Calif., a leader in virtualized and optimized 802.11n enterprise wireless networking, has celebrated its third anniversary of delivering the industry's first enterprise-class 802.11n wireless LAN solutions. In 2007, Meru deployed the world's first enterprise-wide 802.11n wireless network at Morrisville State College, State University of New York (SUNY), with IBM Global Services. With a network of over 800 access points providing ubiquitous wireless coverage and access to any application, students and staff were the first to leverage a Wireless-Like-Wire(TM) experience even in high-density environments in its residence halls and auditoriums as wireless devices proliferated through out the campus. Building on its pioneering vision of the All Wireless Enterprise(TM), where edge network access becomes all-wireless, Meru introduced enterprise-class 802.11n solutions across key industries and vertical markets including healthcare, manufacturing, hospitality, retail, transportation, logistics and education. Today, over 3,500 customers worldwide have already migrated to Meru's next generation virtualized WLAN solution to optimize the performance and reliability of their wireless network, reduce cost and ultimately improve overall end-user experience.

Meru continues to outpace the competing legacy microcell WLAN vendors with 92 percent of Meru's access point units shipped being 802.11n, almost twice that of the overall industry average of 47 percent, as defined by leading analyst firm, the Dell'Oro Group.

"No one should be surprised by the success of 802.11n - it's the core element in Meru's vision of the All-Wireless Enterprise," said Craig Mathias, principal, Farpoint Group. "Meru's leadership in the deployment of 802.11n-based solutions is a key factor in the broad acceptance of 802.11n, and the company's long history of innovation is also central to the prominence of Wi-Fi in so many enterprise networking and communications strategies today."

"In 2007, we knew that students' appetites for bandwidth were on a dramatic rise and we had to choose a solution that could handle whatever was coming next," said Jean Boland, CIO, Morrisville State College. "With Meru and 802.11n, we have been able to give our students access to one of the most reliable college wireless networks, no matter where on campus they are and how many wireless clients are in use around them. The vision of choosing 802.11n before other colleges has given Morrisville State and its students a competitive edge and allowed the IT staff to easily scale as additional bandwidth demands arose."

"Meru jumpstarted the transformation of enterprise networking from expensive, inflexible wired cable plant to our reliable, more cost-effective and productive all-wireless network access environment," said Ihab Abu-Hakima, president and chief executive officer, Meru Networks. "With Meru's next generation 802.11n virtualized WLAN solutions, we are delivering a Wireless-like-Wire solution to organizations across all sectors supporting the accelerating growth in usage of new mobile devices such as iPads, notebooks and smartphones. Today, our solutions are supporting the highest mobile device user densities, and providing the most scalable and best performing enterprise wireless networks around the world."
