MERRILL LYNCH INTRODUCES CMA MASTER FINANCIAL SERVICE; A NEW DIMENSION FOR ITS CASH MANAGEMENT ACCOUNT

NEW YORK, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc., the firm that revolutionized Wall Street with the creation of the Cash Management Account (R), today unveiled the next dimension of central asset accounts called the CMA (R) Master Financial (SM) service.
The CMA Master Financial service is a unique and cost-effective way to save, invest, manage and allocate your assets by establishing separate CMA Sub Accounts (SM) for various savings, investment and financial planning objectives.
These CMA Sub Accounts are automatically linked to a "master" CMA account which makes it easy to consolidate personal and family assets for maximum financial flexibility. For an annual fee of $25, each CMA Sub Account offers many of the features and benefits of the master CMA account, including the same broad range of investment alternatives and the automatic sweep of cash into market funds.
"This is the next generation in the evolution of our Cash Management Account service." said Gerald E. Cremins, director of Asset Accumulation Services for Merrill Lynch Private Client.
"Whatever your stage in life or your financial needs," said Mr. Cremins, "there are countless ways that you and your family can use CMA Sub Accounts to help you achieve your financial goals."
For example, with the CMA Master Financial service, individual investors can open CMA Sub Accounts for their children's education, to help save for retirement, or to accumulate money to start their own business or buy a second home. Funds can be moved automatically between the master CMA account and the CMA Sub Accounts simply by making a toll- free telephone call.
The CMA Sub Accounts can also be used for trust accounts, or living trusts, uniform gift to minors accounts, to separate conservative investments from money to be invested more aggressively, or to simply maintain separate accounts for each member of the family.
For more information about the CMA Master Financial service contact the local Merrill Lynch office or 1-800-MERRILL, ext. 4575.
