ST. PAUL, Minn., May 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Merrill Corporation (NASDAQ: MRLL) today announced that it has converted its document imaging system to PostScript compatibility, a computer language program designed by Adobe Systems. PostScript is considered the emerging standard in electronic printing, publishing and document interchange because it is able to be used with a variety of output devices, such as high speed printers and displays.
"We continue to focus our efforts on key technologies that can be used to re-engineer conventional time-sensitive printing processes, this enables us to deliver innovative services to our customers," said John Castro, president and CEO of Merrill Corporation. "Merrill is the first financial printer to fully implement the PostScript language."
"PostScript's flexibility gives us greater capabilities for producing customer documents that haven't been possible with other systems," stated Mark Kuehn, Merrill's production systems manager. "The system's advanced technology provides Merrill with improved quality and control in all stages of document production." Over the months ahead, Merrill plans to unveil enhanced customer services based on this imaging standard.
