MERIDIAN BANCORP'S BANK OF THE FUTURE RESULTS POUR IN: MONEYSMART CHALLENGE SHOWS A DEAD HEAT BETWEEN MEN AND WOMEN

PHILADELPHIA, June 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Republicans are averaging 80 percent correct compared to 70 percent correct for Democrats. Pennsylvanians and New Jerseyans are scoring 70 percent while Delaware is further back at 40 percent. People age 45-60 with 85 percent correct lead all other age groups. And, its a dead heat between men and women who both have 70 percent correct. These are just some of the early returns from the first 100 people who have taken the MoneySmart Challenge being given in Meridian Bancorp's Bank of the Future Exhibit at the new Pennsylvania Convention Center's Pennsylvania Open House Weekend celebration. Meridian Bancorp is the grand sponsor of the Pennsylvania Open House Weekend, which has attracted over 6,000 people today.
The MoneySmart Challenge is a 20-question financial literacy quiz which tests participants' knowledge of financial issues from insurance to real estate.
The Challenge is just one of 13 demonstrations in the Meridian Bank of the Future exhibit. Other demonstrations include TV Answer, a television banking system; Smart Phone, a special phone with a video touch screen that allows customers to access their accounts from home; Advantage Home Banking and Advantage Phone Banking, which allow customers to use their telephone or home computer to fulfill all their banking needs. Both Advantage products are available now from Meridian.
In the swirling Meridian Magic Money Machine competition, David McIntire, chief development officer for Inglis House, managed to scoop just $3 in 22 seconds. However, Meridian supplemented his take with a $100 check. The Money Machine runs twice daily for charity and several times an hour for individuals attending the Open House Weekend.
