MERCEDES-BENZ ANNOUNCES PRICES OF 1993 300 CLASS MODELS
MONTVALE, N.J., Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Mercedes-Benz of North America today announced the prices of its 1993 300 Class models, which go on sale this week. Despite a number of product improvements, MBNA has kept the prices for these models within 0.8 percent to 1.98 percent of their '92 counterparts.
The 300 Class is Mercedes-Benz's mid-size line and consists of 10 models, including sport sedans, station wagons, a coupe and, for the first time since 1971, a four-passenger convertible. All feature full- front safety air bags as standard equipment. Among the technical changes for '93 are new engines which provide more power and better fuel mileage. The new convertible, called the 300CE Cabriolet, features an automatic rollbar and a top that lowers and stores out of sight at the push of a button after being unlatched from the windshield.
The complete 1993 Mercedes-Benz lineup will consist of 22 models (20 in California). The company previously released the latest versions of its two 190 Class sport sedans and four of its five S-Class large sedans, including a new long-wheelbase model, the 400SEL. The remaining models -- the 600SEL sedan, the SL sports cars and two new limited- edition S-Class coupes -- will go on sale over the next two months.
As the company announced earlier, the suggested retail prices of the 190E 2.3 and 190E 2.6 were not increased for 1993, while the increases for the S-Class sedans range from 0.72 percent to 1.02 percent.
