MEP hails French verdict on UK beef.
And he said the British government should now push the French to finally lift their ban.
Responding to the news from the French Food Safety Agency declaring British beef to be safe, Harbury's Philip Bushill-Matthews said: "At last the French experts have finally confirmed what the rest of Europe already knows - that British beef is safe.
"There are now no possible excuses for the French government maintaining its illegal ban on British beef imports.
"The British farming industry deserves nothing short of a total lifting of the ban immediately and unconditionally.
"The previous French government defied EU law, flouted the judgment of Europe's highest court and ignored the opinions of Europe's top scientists. I urge our own government to pressure France to lift the ban without further delay."
