   MENLO LOGISTICS SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH SEARS LOGISTICS SERVICES
    PALO ALTO, Calif., Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Menlo Logistics Inc., a subsidiary of Consolidated Freightways Inc. (NYSE: CNF), announced today it has signed a major agreement to provide freight transportation services to Sears Logistics Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sears, Roebuck and Co.
    Under the agreement, Menlo Logistics will help manage most less- than-truckload (LTL) transportation for SLS serving its major distribution centers.  Menlo Logistics will select the LTL carriers for SLS, which will include other subsidiaries of Consolidated Freightways Inc., as well as other carriers outside the CF family of companies.
    "This is a unique agreement uniting SLS, which supplies logistics services to one of America's largest retailers, with Menlo Logistics, which represents one of America's largest freight trucking companies," said Jim Comerford, vice president of transportation services for Sears Logistics Services.  "We think that this agreement is the first of its kind in the transportation industry and will help us continually improve our level of service to customers while reducing costs."

    Itasca, Ill.-based SLS provides distribution, home delivery and transportation services to Sears and other customers nationwide.
    Menlo Logistics Inc., a Menlo Park, Calif.-based subsidiary of Consolidated Freightways Inc., provides a comprehensive management service encompassing all logistics needs -- from input of raw materials to the production line to delivery of finished goods to the customer -- for any business engaged in manufacturing and retailing.
