MENDEZ NAMED VICE PRESIDENT BUSINESS AFFAIRS, PARAMOUNT DOMESTIC TELEVISION

 HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert G. Mendez has been named vice president, business affairs, for Paramount Domestic Television, it was announced today by Bruce Pottash, senior vice president, business affairs and legal for the division. He was promoted from executive director, business affairs.
 In his new capacity, Mendez will oversee talent and production agreements on first-run syndicated series and specials, including "Entertainment Tonight" and "The Maury Povich Show."
 In making the announcement, Pottash said, "We are very happy to promote Bob based on his lengthy experience with the company and the strong relationships he has developed with our creative talent."
 Mendez joined Paramount in 1987 as associate director, business and legal, for Paramount Domestic Television. In 1988, he was promoted to director, business affairs, and in 1992, to executive director.
 From 1982 to 1987, he was a senior attorney for NBC, where he managed West Coast Litigation, including copyright infringement and idea theft. Prior to that, he served for two years as Deputy Attorney General with the California Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General.
 Mendez earned his law degree in 1980 from the University of California at Davis; he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and American History in 1977 from Pomona College.
 Mendez has been a board member of the Mexican American Bar Association and was formerly president of the Hispanic National Bar Association.
