THIS picture of a dog watching the football has won the Vanarama picture of the month for November.

Gloucester fan Neil Phelps snapped Peggy Sue as she attentively watched Colwyn Bay FC take on Gloucester City at Llanelian Road on November 22.

Sadly for him the football didn't go as well as the photography, as Gloucester conceded three first half goals and lost to the Seagulls 3-1. Neil, who will be given a framed certificate for the award, said: "I saw her there watching the football and she was there all game.

"I've never seen a dog stand on its hind legs like that for so long, normally they just want to chase the ball.

Peggy Sue, a border collie, belongs to Colwyn Bay FC director Bill Murray who takes her to every home game.

Bill said: "She'd be after the ball if I didn't keep her on a lead but she loves watching the game."
