MEDTRONIC DIRECTORS INCREASE DIVIDEND 21 PCT.

 MINNEAPOLIS, June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of Medtronic, Inc. (NYSE: MDT) today approved a first-quarter dividend of 17 cents per share, payable July 30 to shareholders of record at the close of business July 9.
 This rate reflected the board's intention to increase the annual dividend for fiscal 1994 by 12 cents to 68 cents per common share, an increase of 21 percent over the annual dividend of 56 cents a share in the previous fiscal year.
 The company has paid a dividend each quarter since the beginning of fiscal 1978 and has raised its dividend once each year.
 Medtronic, Inc., headquartered in Minneapolis, is the world's leading therapeutic medical device company. Its annual meeting of shareholders will be held at 10 a.m. August 25, 1993, at corporate headquarters in suburban Minneapolis. Shareholders of record on July 9 will be eligible to vote at the meeting.
