 MEDTRONIC APPOINTS YOUNG AS VICE PRESIDENT,
 INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RESOURCES
 MINNEAPOLIS, July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Medtronic, Inc. (NYSE: MDT) has announced the appointment of Donald G. Young as vice president, international human resources, effective July 13, 1992.
 Reporting to Arthur D. Collins, Jr., president of Medtronic International, Young will be responsible for the coordination of recruitment, compensation, benefits and development functions related to Medtronic's 1,800 employees based outside the United States.
 Young, 45, is now vice president, human resources, for Levi Strauss International, San Francisco, Calif., where he has served in human resources positions for 13 years, including three as director of human resources for the Asia/Pacific division. His career also has included human resources positions with PPG Industries, Inc., and the Sperry-Rand Corporation.
 Young is a graduate of North Carolina A&T University, Greensboro.
 Medtronic, Inc., headquartered in Minneapolis, is a leading developer and manufacturer of biomedical devices for improving cardiovascular and neurological health.
