 MEDSTAT SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES RECORD Q1 RESULTS AND STOCK SPLIT
 ANN ARBOR, Mich., Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- At its annual meeting today, MEDSTAT Systems (NASDAQ: MDST) announced record revenues and earnings for its first quarter and a 2-for-1 stock split.
 Revenues rose 49 percent to $5,667,000 up from $3,809,000 in the first quarter last year. Operating income also rose 49 percent, to $851,000 from last year's $573,000. Net income was $588,000, up 43 percent from $410,000. Earnings per share were $.20 versus $.15 last year.
 MEDSTAT Systems' Board of Directors declared a 2-for-1 split in the company's common stock. The new shares will be distributed on March 2, 1992 to shareholders of record at the close of business on Feb. 14, 1992.

Ludy, MEDSTAT chairman and chief executive. "Today's stock split further signifies our confidence in our future and should significantly improve liquidity for our shareholders."
