MEDQUIST NAMES NATIONAL SALES DIRECTOR FOR BUSINESS SERVICES DIVISION
GIBBSBORO, N.J., June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- MedQuist Inc. (NASDAQ: MEDQ) has announced the appointment of James Post to the new position of national sales director for its Business Services Division, which provides accounts receivable collection services for hospitals.
A veteran of 17 years in health care sales and marketing, Post had been vice president of Implus Corporation, a health and fitness products marketing and manufacturing firm with worldwide distribution. Previously, he served as president and general manager of Campbell Soup Company's Health and Fitness Division and was manager of health and fitness services for Xerox Corp.
In announcing Post's appointment, Richard J. Censits, MedQuist president and chief executive officer, said the move was part of an accelerated program to expand the company's accounts receivable collection activities nationwide.
Censits noted that Post will spearhead a unique program to obtain new hospital clients for the collection service. The new program, called "Day One," provides hospitals with an incentive to evaluate MedQuist's receivables collection proficiency on an actual trial basis.
Post will be based at MedQuist's regional sales office in the Raleigh-Durham, N.C., Research Triangle Park. The company's other regional sales offices are in New Jersey and Florida.
In addition to hospital accounts receivable collection, MedQuist provides decision-support computer software products and specialized financial consulting services to hospitals nationally. The company also operates a regional home and ambulatory health care business in the New Jersey-Pennsylvania-Delaware market.
MedQuist completed its initial public offering in May 1992.
