MEDINA POLLACK ENTERTAINMENT IN FIRST-LOOK PACT WITH WARNER BROS. BURBANK, Calif., March 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Warner Bros. and Warner Records executive Benny Medina and producer Jeff Pollack have entered into a multi-media agreement with Warner Bros. calling for the immediate implementation of a first-look deal for film and television projects under the pair's recently formed Medina/Pollack Entertainment banner. Bruce Berman, Warner Bros. president of Worldwide Theatrical Production, confirmed the deal today. Medina and Pollack currently co-produce the NBC-TV hit series "Fresh Prince of Bel Air," which is based on their original format. Additionally, the team's management division will continue to guide the acting careers of such clients as Will Smith, who stars in the NBC series. Medina was recently appointed to the newly created post of senior vice president and general manager, Warner Bros. Records Black Music Division. In his new position, he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Black Music Division and servicing the Warner Bros./Reprise label ventures Qwest, Paisley Park, Giant, Sire and Cold Chillin'. Medina will continue to sign and develop new artists and remain actively involved in the recording careers of current Warner Bros. artists Prince, Karyn White, Tevin Campbell, Ray Charles and Naughty by Nature, among others. The new deal also calls for the future formation of a record label to be helmed by Medina and funded by Warner Bros. Records. "We are pleased to be able to offer this flexible and unique arrangement to Benny, who is a highly valued executive at Warner Bros. Records, and to Jeff, whose creativity has been amply demonstrated through his work on 'Fresh Prince of Bel Air,'" stated Berman. "Under our agreement, Benny and Jeff will have the freedom and opportunity to explore their entrepreneurial interests in motion pictures, television and management while continuing to fulfill their current roles as they have done so well."
