MEDICAL RESOURCE COMPANIES OF AMERICA ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION
DALLAS, Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Medical Resource Companies of America, Inc. announced today the acquisition of Alpha Mobility, Inc. for an undisclosed amount. Alpha Mobility is a wholly owned subsidiary of Wesbar Corporation, which is headquartered in West Bend, Wis.
"Alpha's AM scooters will give us a full line of scooters for the indoor and outdoor market, including scooters for uses in supermarkets," said James R. Gilley, president and CEO of Medical Resource Companies. "Providing mobility assistance products for the aging and handicapped is a major part of our business strategy. We are the leader in developing and producing heavy duty scooters for theme parks. This acquisition lets us compete in the total electric scooter market," Gilley stated.
Alpha Mobility, headquartered in Sarasota, Fla., manufactures and markets several styles of three and four wheeled front-end and rear-end driven scooters. The company markets its scooters through a network of leading sales representatives to over 1,000 home health care dealers and distributors.
The synergies between the two companies are significant, according to Gilley. "This greatly increases the marketing capabilities of Medical Resource and helps both companies strengthen their manufacturing and engineering capabilities," he said.
Medical Resource Companies of America is located in Addison, Texas, a North Dallas suburb. The company provides products and services for the aging and the handicapped markets. Medical Resource also owns and manages retirement centers, health care centers and assisted living centers.
