MEDICAL DEVICES ANNOUNCES SIGNIFICANT INTERNATIONAL ORDER
ST. PAUL, Minn., May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Medical Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ: MDEV) (MDI) today announced receiving a significant order from its United Kingdom distributor. This order is for 1,000 units of one of the company's Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator (TENS) devices with certain modifications for use in the United Kingdom in the OB/GYN market. Shipments of this order will begin in July of 1992.
This order is the second such order MDI has received during this fiscal year. The company expects additional orders for this modified TENS unit as marketing efforts are expanded from the United Kingdom into the Western European marketplace.
According to Gary Mueller, MDI's director of distributor and international sales, "We are very enthused by the acceptance in England of this unique TENS unit. We expect purchases of this product to continue in fiscal 1993, and expect to see considerable purchases of accessory items as well. In addition to this relationship we are talking to other potential distributors in Europe and Scandinavia about our entire line of products. The international market offers significant opportunities for Medical Devices, Inc."
Medical Devices, Inc. is a leading designer and manufacturer of electromedical rehabilitation and pain management products. The company's common stock is traded on the national over-the-counter market under the NASDAQ symbol MDEV.
