MEDICAL COLLEGE OF OHIO, A MEMBER OF THE UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL CONSORTIUM, PURCHASES THE RADSTAT RADIOLOGY INFORMATION SYSTEM FROM CHC, INC.
HOUSTON, June 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Community Health Computing Corp. (NASDAQ: CHCC) has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, CHC, Inc. has contracted with the Medical College of Ohio to supply the company's RadStat(TM) Radiology Information System (RIS). Medical College of Ohio is a member of the University Hospital Consortium (UHC), the healthcare organization that signed a preferred vendor contract with CHC earlier this year. The University Hospital Consortium, founded in 1984, is composed of more than 60 leading academic healthcare centers throughout the country. After a nationwide evaluation of RIS vendors and their products, the consortium selected CHC's RadStat system along with two other competing RIS systems as the organization's preferred radiology products. The Medical College of Ohio, located in Toledo, is a 319-bed teaching hospital and is the first UHC site to place an order for the RadStat system. Negotiations are ongoing with several other UHC hospitals, which have already selected CHC as their vendor of choice. Community Health Computing Corp. develops, provides, and supports enterprise-wide information systems, which utilize UNIX-based open systems computer architecture, for hospitals and other healthcare facilities primarily in North America and the United Kingdom. -0- 6/15/93 /CONTACT: Johnnie W.
