The major pipeline project Medgaz linking Algeria and Spain is due to be operational by the second half of 2009, the projects' executives said. The construction works of the sub-marine gas pipeline and the compressor plant of Beni Saf (30-km from Ain Temouchent province, 500-km west of Algiers) as well as the receiving terminal in Almeria (Spain) have been launched in the end of 2007. The work schedule for the terminal of the pipeline MED-GZ4 Hassi R'mel-Beni Saf states that the 3rd phase of works in Mohammadia-Beni Saf (120 km) will be completed in the first half of 2009.aaa
