MED2020 Forum on Oct 26 & 27 at intercon.

Oman will host the MED2020 Forum on October 26 and 27 at InterContinental Muscat under the patronage of H H Sayyid Faisal bin Turki al Said. The forum is being organised by WJ Towell and Menacare and accredited by the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science -- Chicago Medical School.

The forum is a collaborative drive to harness the best of global medical expertise and share knowledge on a constantly evolving healthcare industry, a press release said. Omantel is the gold sponsor of the event and will provide live streaming of the forum to international audiences.

A multi-disciplinary panel of experts from various fields of medicine and healthcare services will convene under the theme of 'Transforming the Future of Medicine in the MENA region for Superior Healthcare Outcomes' to discuss breakthrough treatment discoveries in the fields of cardiology, metabolic syndromes, blood disorders, anti-aging and more.

"This forum is specifically designed, not only to share knowledge and discuss the new and exciting innovations in medicine, but also to transform this knowledge and innovation into actionable programmes that could be easily and rapidly implemented. The health of any population can be improved only through the implementation of exceptional health outcomes," said Dr Rabi F Sulayman, chairman of the organising committee.

Among the educational objectives of the conference are reviewing the latest advances in medicine; recognising the clinical skills of healthcare professionals; analysing and developing patient care outcomes through sharing best practices and expertise; and applying the shared knowledge into actionable programmes. The conference is open to all practitioners and personnel of the medical and health care industry, hospital administrative staff and patients.

The MED2020 Forum includes expert panelists from some of the world's most renowned hospitals and healthcare centres. Notable among them are Kathleen Ann Webster, MD, MBA; Thom Lobe, MD, MBA, FACS, IPSO, FACPE, senior pediatric surgeon at Advocate Children's Hospital; and Marc Silver, MD, FACP, FACC, FCCP, FAHA, chairman of Department of Internal Medicine at Advocate Christ Medical Centre.
