WASHINGTON, Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Carol Herod has been

appointed senior vice president of business marketing for MCI Communications Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: MCIC), the company announced today. Herod succeeds former senior vice president, C. Thomas Faulders, III, who has joined Communications Satellite Corporation (COMSAT) as chief financial officer.
In her new capacity, Herod assumes responsibility for all business marketing including product development and management, pricing, communications strategy and field support. She is based in McLean, Va., and reports to Kevin Sharer, president of MCI business markets.

Herod has also held corporate marketing and sales positions as director of product management for MCI's Prism business services, MCI 800 Service and MCI WATs, and served as director of sales for the former MCI Mid-Atlantic Division after joining MCI in 1984. She subsequently left MCI in 1987 and held marketing management positions with AT&T and U.S. Sprint, before rejoining MCI's consumer markets group in 1991.
She holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Florida International University and a master of business administration degree from George Washington University.
