MCI INTRODUCES UNIQUE SAVINGS WITH PRIMETIME ARKANSAS WASHINGTON, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Arkansas residents are now
eligible for additional long-distance savings with a new plan introduced today by MCI Communications Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: MCIC). Arkansans who call long distance both within the state and anywhere in the continental United States can now save on their monthly long distance phone bills by using MCI's PrimeTime Arkansas plan.
PrimeTime, introduced May 1989, allows customers to buy long distance service by the hour for state to state calls for $7.50 a month. For an additional $2.25, customers may purchase PrimeTime Arkansas to save on calls placed both in and out of state. Introduced as an enhancement to MCI's PrimeTime, PrimeTime Arkansas covers the first hour of long distance calls placed anywhere within the United States during plan hours -- weekdays from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m., all day Saturday and Sunday to 5 p.m., starting again at 11 p.m. Additional calls placed after the first hour cost 10.8 cents per minute. Under this plan customers also receive a 10 percent discount off MCI Dial "1" rates during non-plan hours. When combined with Friends and Family from MCI, which is free to MCI customers, callers save an additional 20 percent. MCI, the nation's second largest long distance provider, offers residential savings through a number of services and products including: Friends & Family; Friends & Family International; Friends & Family 800; MCI PrimeTime; PrimeTime Instate; MCI Personal 800; MCI International Calling Plans such as Call Europe, Call Pacific, Call Canada and Call Mexico; MCI Messenger; and the MCI Card. -0- 11/12/91 /CONTACT: Debra Shriver, 703-415-6904, or Kate Fralin, 703-415-6941, both of MCI/ (MCIC) CO: MCI Communications Corporation ST: Arkansas IN: TLS SU: PDT TW -- DC013 -- 3465 11/12/91 12:27 EST
