MCI EXPANDS CALL USA SERVICE TO NEARLY 70 COUNTRIES
RYE BROOK, N.Y., Aug. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- MCI CALL USA has expanded

its service to six additional countries, including China, the Philippines, Poland, India, Ecuador and Iceland. This most recent expansion allows MCI Card holders to call the U.S. from nearly 70 countries and places worldwide. The service is provided by MCI International, Inc., a subsidiary of MCI Communications Corporation (MCI).
MCI CALL USA is an inbound international calling service that enables anyone overseas to place calls back to the U.S. through toll- free (Freephone) numbers.
After dialing the number the caller is automatically connected to an MCI Operator in the U.S. who then completes the call. Calls can be billed to an MCI Card, collect to the party being called, to a Bell Operating Company or local telephone company calling card.
MCI Card holders placing calls from all these locations may also participate in MCI's popular "Friends & Family" plan, which offers an additional 20 percent discount on MCI's low rates. Callers receive the discount every time they call any one of up to twenty friends, relatives or business associates in the U.S. who are listed in their "Calling Circle."
With MCI WORLD REACH, MCI Card holders can also use the CALL USA access numbers to place country to country calls, from a growing list of participating CALL USA countries. An MCI Operator in the U.S. connects the customer to the appropriate international destination.
With the overseas billing option of the MCI Card, Americans living overseas -- businessmen, embassy personnel, U.S. military and civilians -- can sign up for the MCI Card and charge their MCI Calls to a Visa or MasterCard account. The monthly total will appear on their credit card statement and MCI will deliver a detailed statement of all calls each month.
MCI offers a full range of long distance and international communications services including "dial 1" service, MCI Card, International 800 Service, MCI fax, telex, and MCI Mail electronic mail. MCI also offers business networking services including Vnet VNC (Virtual Network Connection), GCS (Global Communications Service), private lines, packet switching, private voice data networks and television transmission. MCI's 69 subsidiary and representative offices in 53 countries, Guam and Puerto Rico are positioned to support the full range of global telecommunications services.
