 MCGRAW-HILL NAMES QUANDT TO HEAD J.J. KENNY
 NEW YORK, Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- James Quandt has been named


president and chief executive officer of J.J. Kenny & Co., Inc., a leading provider of municipal securities information, and a unit of McGraw-Hill, Inc. (NYSE: MHP), it was announced today. Quandt replaces J. Kevin Kenny, who will remain chairman of J.J. Kenny.
 Quandt will be responsible for the daily management and overall strategy at J.J. Kenny, which includes Kenny Securities Information Services, Trading, Kenny Information Services and Kenny Evaluation Services. He will assume his new position March 2, and report to Harold W. McGraw III, executive vice president of operations at McGraw-Hill.
 Currently, Quandt is senior vice president, director of Financial Management & Trust Services Group for Security Pacific National Bank in Los Angeles, which is merging with Bank of America. In this position, Quandt directs a global organization of 900 people in the Personal Trust and Asset Management Division, which includes Trust Servicing, Middle Market Employee Benefit Trust, and Real Estate Management.
 Quandt joined Security Pacific National Bank in 1982 as president and chief executive officer of Security Pacific Brokers, Inc., in Pasadena, Calif. He was named to his present position in 1988.
 Prior to joining Security Pacific, Quandt was senior vice president of COMARK, a municipal bond dealer, from 1979 to 1982; second vice president of Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Co., Los Angeles, from 1975 to 1979; and senior account executive at Bank of America, Los Angeles, from 1973 to 1975.
 Quandt holds a B.S. in business administration and economics from St. Mary's College of California. He and his wife and two children reside in San Marino, Calif., and will be relocating to the New York metropolitan area.
 J.J. Kenny & Co., Inc. was acquired by McGraw-Hill in 1990 and combined with the operations of Standard & Poor's Securities Information Services, another McGraw-Hill unit.
