MCGRAW-HILL ACQUIRES ASSETS OF MAXWELL BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS GROUP
NEW YORK, April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- McGraw-Hill, Inc. (NYSE: MHP), today announced it has acquired the assets of Maxwell Business Communications Data Distribution Publications USA ("MBCUS") from Macmillan, Inc., for an undisclosed cash sum.
MBCUS is known for its compendium of product catalogs for various sectors of the construction industry including Building Renovation & Retrofit Catalog; Mechanical Products Catalog; Kitchen & Bath Source Book; and Controls & Security Systems Catalog.
The acquired properties will become part of the Sweet's group of McGraw-Hill's Construction Information Group.
"The addition of this well-respected industry information resource strengthens and expands the reach of Sweet's core business in the construction market," said Joseph L. Dionne, chairman and chief executive officer of McGraw-Hill, Inc. "There are significant synergies between these products and Sweet's existing services, which will allow Sweet's to extend many of its value-added marketing practices to a broader customer base."
The MBCUS products will be sold by the Sweet's sales force and will be published by its existing operations. Sweet's is the building product information arm of McGraw-Hill known for its 69-volume Catalog File of construction product information and other market resources used by more than 130,000 architectural, contracting, engineering, and owner offices worldwide.
