MCDONALD'S TO SET-UP MOBILE RESTAURANT TO PROVIDE 125,000 FREE MEALS
 TO HOMESTEAD HURRICANE VICTIMS
HOMESTEAD, Fla., Aug. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- McDonald's Corporation today announced that it will set-up a mobile restaurant to provide 125,000 free meals to victims of Hurricane Andrew in the Homestead area beginning tomorrow, Aug. 30, at 10 a.m. The unit will be located at 30335 South Federal Highway in Homestead, the site of one of the McDonald's that has not reopened due to damage from the hurricane. McDonald's also is currently planning to set-up a second mobile unit in the Cutler Ridge area; however, a location for that unit has not been determined.
The Homestead unit, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., will be serving free hamburgers, cheeseburgers, french fries and sodas, all of which have been donated by McDonald's Corporation and its suppliers. It is expected that the unit should go through 125,000 meals in one week.
"We're committed to getting South Floridians back on their feet," said Clint Gulley of McDonald's Corporation. "We're hoping that these meals will last a whole week, but we're committed to doing whatever we can to help this community rebuild their lives in this time of need."
