MCCOY JOINS WITCO AS GENERAL COUNSEL; MYERS AND TUCKER NAMED CORPORATE OFFICERS

 NEW YORK, April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Witco Corporation (NYSE: WIT) announced today that it has elected Dustan E. McCoy to the position of corporate vice president and general counsel, Mr. McCoy will also assume the responsibility of corporate secretary upon the retirement on May 1, 1993, of Joseph Russo, a 35-year Witco veteran.
 A member of the bar for 15 years, Mr. McCoy most recently was associate general counsel at Ashland Oil, Inc. He is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelor's degree in political science and holds a law degree from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law in Highland Heights, Ky.
 He was a recipient in 1986 of the Salmon P. Chase College of Law Outstanding Recent Graduate Award. He has also authored a chapter pertaining to corporate records for "Kentucky Business Organizations," published by University of Kentucky. Mr. McCoy is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Salmon P. Chase College of Law Board of Visitors, and is on the board of directors for the Kentucky Academy of Family Physicians Foundation. He is also a past member of the board of directors of the Kentucky State Chamber of Commerce. A native of Kentucky, he will relocate to Witco's corporate headquarters in New York City.
 Witco simultaneously announced the election of Eric Myers and Clark Tucker to corporate officers. Mr. Myers, who is vice president and general manager of the Kendall and Amalie motor oils and lubricants product lines of the Lubricants Group joined Witco in 1991. Mr. Tucker, who has been named vice president of human resources, joined the company in 1992 as its general manager of human resources.
