MBIA INC. has announced the retirement of JOSEPH BROWN, its executive chairman. GARY DUNTON, current chief executive officer and president of MBIA, has been elected to succeed Brown.

Dunton joined MBIA Inc. in 1998 and was most recently president and chief operating officer. Before joining MBIA Inc., Dunton worked with USF&G Insurance Co. Prior to that, he was president of the Family and Business Insurance Group. Dunton also spent 12 years with Aetna Life & Casualty as head of Corporate Finance.
