MBAA sponsoring packaging seminar.

The Master Brewers Association of the Americas will sponsor a "Short Course in Brewery Packaging Technology" this spring, the group announced. The course will be offered March 29-April 9 at the J.F. Friedrick Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The course, which will feature industry experts as instructors, has been designed to create a comprehensive learning environment which will expose the students to all phases of brewery packaging technology. Some of the subjects covered will include bottle washers and pasteurizers, electronic quality control assurance equipment, fillers and beer handling in a filler, closures, kegs/keg handling, conveyors, labelers and labeling, paperboard packaging, maintaining product quality and uniformity and principles of sanitation and cleaning.

According to the MBAA, fees for the course are $1,690 for single and $1,590 for shared accommodations, In addition to room, the tuition covers all educational materials, allowances for breakfasts, luncheons, two dinners and a non-refundable application fee.
