MAY 1993 SALES INCREASE 2.8 PERCENT FOR VENTURE STORES, INC.
O'FALLON, Mo., June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Venture Stores, Inc. (NYSE: VEN) reported sales for May 1993 (4 weeks ended May 29, 1993) of $130.4 million, an increase of 2.8 percent over last May (4 weeks ended May 30, 1992) sales of $126.8 million. Comparable store sales for the period increased 0.8 percent. Year-to-date sales (17 weeks ended May 29, 1993) were $494.0 million, an increase of 0.7 percent from $490.8 million for the same period last year (17 weeks ended May 30, 1992). Year-to-date comparable store sales decreased 2.8 percent. VENTURE STORES, INC.
