MAXIMUS launches solutions for electronic health record incentive programs.

MAXIMUS launched its Meaningful Use Solutions to help states develop and implement their electronic health record incentive programs. The Reston, Va.-based company said electronic health record or EHRs were being promoted by the federal government under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 or ARRA and the HITECH Act. Under HITECH, eligible health care professionals and hospitals can receive Medicare and Medicaid incentive payments when they adopt and demonstrate the meaningful use of certified EHR technology. Those states that quickly enable EHR adoption through approved state Medicaid HIT Plans or SMHPs and Implementation Advance Planning Documents or I-APDs will be eligible to receive federal dollars.
