 MATT ITO NAMED PRESIDENT BY YAMAHA ELECTRONICS
 BUENA PARK, Calif., Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Masaaki (Matt) Ito has


been named president of Yamaha Electronics Corporation, USA. Ito adds the presidency to the title of chief operating officer announced in September. The company, headquartered in Buena Park, is a major manufacturer of consumer audio, video, and car audio components.
 According to Ito, the company will continue to develop innovative, high technology consumer electronics products and it foresees no changes in its marketing or distribution strategy. "Yamaha has built its strong position by relying on its core audio/video specialty dealers. We will maintain and enhance those relationships," he said.
 Ito, 47, joined Yamaha Corporation, Japan, after graduating from Kyoto University with a degree in business administration in 1967. He has devoted most of his career to the company's international business and has previously worked in Yamaha's Buena Park office complex. From 1981 to 1986, Ito was with YEC's sister company, Yamaha International Corporation, which shares its office park headquarters. Following his Buena Park service, Ito became president of Yamaha Music Australia Pty., Ltd. He returned to Japan in 1990 to become deputy general manager of the international division, Yamaha Corporation, Japan.
