 WITH AMMIRATI & PURIS ON U.S. ADVERTISING ACCOUNT
 MasterCard Will Utilize a Team Management Approach to Media
 NEW YORK, Sept. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- On the heels of its just- completed strategic and creative agency review, MasterCard International today announced it has awarded the media assignment for its $60 million U.S. advertising account to DeWitt Media, Inc., the Independent New York-based media agency. The media agency will work with the media department at Ammirati & Puris, MasterCard's newly-appointed strategic and creative agency.
 MasterCard's plan is to utilize a team management approach to media. DeWitt will conduct the media buying and the two agencies will collaborate on strategy development and planning.
 DeWitt won the assignment after a media buying review involving nine other media resources. MasterCard's decision was based on analysis on responses to an extensive questionnaire, a planning assignment and meetings with the finalist agencies.
 In explaining the decision, James Desrosier, MasterCard vice president of advertising said, "Gene DeWitt is highly regarded throughout the industry and the media for his planning and negotiating skills. He has assembled a terrific organization that is widely respected and will extend our media buying capabilities.
 "In addition, Mike Lotito, media director of Ammirati & Puris, is also recognized for his media strategy and planning skills and has been a strong contributor in developing MasterCard's new vision," Desrosier added. "Together this will be a unique media management team."
 DeWitt's appointment is effective immediately and they will implement MasterCard's national advertising plan during the fourth quarter.
