 MASSIVE TB OUTBREAK AT NORTH CENTRAL BRONX HOSPITAL
 NEW YORK, March 20 /PRNewswire/ -- A massive tuberculosis outbreak


has been reported at North Central Bronx Hospital (NCBH), with over 60 health care workers testing positive thus far. The outbreak occurred in the 2C clinic and several medical wards (9A, 9B, 10A) between Jan. 14 and Feb. 20, 1992.
 James Butler, head of the largest municipal hospital union in the city, Local 420, DC 37, AFSCME is meeting with the executive director of NCBH and his staff at 12:30 p.m. today, to demand a thorough investigation of the TB outbreak. President Butler also insists that the hospital implement immediate testing of its entire staff, not simply those stationed in the areas in question, and to take the necessary precautions to prevent any further spread of the disease to either the hospital's staff or its patients.
