 MARYLAND PAPER BOX COMPANY IS MANUFACTURER OF THE YEAR
 BALTIMORE, March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Maryland Paper Box Company was declared the Manufacturer of the Year by the Retail Packaging Manufacturer's Association (RPMA). For the first time in its history, the RPMA presented this prestigious award at its recent national convention in Las Vegas.
 Out of over 100 of the top retail packaging manufacturing companies in America and Canada, Maryland Paper Box Company was voted the best all-around in categories which include sales service, product reliability, and for raising the industry's standards.
 Maryland Paper Box Company is a manufacturer of gift boxes, shopping bags, and gift wrappings for retail stores. It is a family- owned business celebrating its diamond jubilee, 75th year.
 Following the award ceremony, David C. Benfield, vice president of sales, reiterated his "commitment to customers." Malcolm D. Mahr, chairman of the board and the company's chief executive officer, gave credit to the sales, management and manufacturing personnel for making the award possible. When asked, "Did you win anything in Las Vegas, the gambling capital?" Mahr replied, "We won something most precious and invaluable, namely the recognition, respect, and esteem of our customers and our industry."
