MARYLAND AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE PRESENTED TO CHESAPEAKE PACKAGING CO.-BALTIMORE DIVISION

 BALTIMORE, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Donald P. Hutchinson, former president of the Maryland Business Council (MBC), and Mark L. Wasserman, secretary of the Maryland Department of Economic and Employment Development (DEED), presented the first Maryland Award for Excellence for business to Bob Argabright, president and general manager of Chesapeake Packaging Co.-Baltimore Division, at a ceremony this morning at the University of Maryland College Conference Center in College Park, Md.
 After receiving the award, Argabright said: "We are proud of the accomplishments of the employees at the Baltimore Division. We achieved the ISO 9001 certification in 11 months and have realized increases in productivity and quality. People make the difference at the Baltimore Division."
 This new Maryland Award for Excellence is co-sponsored by DEED and MBC. The award is a first to recognize the continuous improvement accomplishments of businesses in Maryland.
 Chesapeake Corporation (NYSE: CSK), a Fortune 500 company headquartered in Richmond, Va., is a paper and packaging company. Chesapeake's primary businesses are tissue and kraft paper products and packaging. Other businesses include consumer tissue products, land development and wood products.
