 MARY A. CARRAGHER APPOINTED VICE PRESIDENT, CORPORATE GENERAL COUNSEL
 CHICAGO, July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Mary A. Carragher, 32, has been appointed vice president, general counsel for Foote, Cone & Belding Communications, Inc. (NYSE: FCB), effective immediately.
 Carragher joins FCB from Sidley & Austin, Chicago, where she served as an associate since 1985. Her practice at Sidley & Austin, an internationally recognized law firm, was concentrated in the Intellectual Property and Marketing group, specializing in advertising, copyright, trademark, licensing, merchandising and entertainment issues. She also has extensive experience in litigation and contract negotiation.
 Carragher will oversee all legal affairs for FCB, reporting to Bruce Mason, chairman and chief executive officer of the company.
 Mason said, "Mary Carragher is an accomplished attorney and a superb addition to our senior management team. She will ensure that our legal services meet the highest standards of excellence and performance."
 A magna cum laude graduate of Loyola University of Chicago, with a B.A. in honors Political Science, Carragher received a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.
 She is a member of the American Bar Association's section on Patents, Trademarks & Copyrights; The Lawyers for the Creative Arts; The American Intellectual Property Law Association; The United States Trademark Association and the Chicago Bar Association. In addition, she has spoken on copyright and trademark law.
