MARVEL EXPANDS FINANCIAL & LEGAL STAFFS DUE TO CONTINUED GROWTH

 NEW YORK, Dec. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Marvel Entertainment Group, Inc. (NYSE: MRV) announced the expansion of its financial and legal staffs due to the continued growth of operations. Marvel Entertainment Group now includes Marvel Entertainment publishing, consumer products licensing, and advertising-promotions; Fleer Corp. sports and entertainment picture cards and confectionery products; and Toy Biz, Inc. toy marketing and distribution.
 The company announced that Bobby G. Jenkins has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer, and that former CFO James W. Wilson will become executive vice president, finance, a new position. Mr. Jenkins was most recently assistant vice president of finance of Turner Broadcasting System (AMEX: TBSA), where his responsibilities included mergers and acquisitions. Prior to Turner, Mr. Jenkins was with the Price Waterhouse auditing firm in Atlanta from 1985-1992, where he worked principally with clients in the entertainment industry.
 The company also announced that Paul E. Shapiro has been named executive vice president and general counsel, effective Jan. 1, 1994, and that former general counsel Robert L. Losey will become executive vice president, legal affairs, a new position. Mr. Shapiro was most recently managing partner in the West Palm Beach, Fla. office of the law firm Greenberg, Traurig, Hoffman, Lipoff, Rosen & Quentel, where he remains of counsel. At Greenberg, Traurig, Mr. Shapiro represented well-known sports figures. He has been a long time director of the Sports Lawyers Association of America and was a co-founder of The Institute for Paralegal Training, Philadelphia.
