MARVEL ENTERTAINMENT GROUP, INC. COMPLETES TENDER OFFER FOR FLEER CORP.
 NEW YORK, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Marvel Entertainment Group, Inc. (NYSE: MRV) announced today the completion of its $28 per share cash tender offer for all of the outstanding shares of Fleer Corp. (NASDAQ: FLER).
 In the offer, which expired at midnight, New York City time, on Aug. 31, 1992, 7,092,948 shares of Fleer common stock were tendered and accepted for payment (including 686,997 shares tendered subject to guarantees of delivery), representing approximately 75 percent of the outstanding Fleer shares.
 As previously announced, the remaining Fleer shares will be converted into the right to receive $28 per share in cash in a merger between Fleer and a Marvel subsidiary.
 Marvel is the largest creator of comic books and other illustrated material in North America. Fleer is a leading marketer of sports picture cards (baseball, football and basketball) and confectionery products, including Dubble Bubble gum products.
