MARTIN MARIETTA TO MANAGE U.S. EPA NATIONAL DATA PROCESSING CENTER
 BETHESDA, Md., Sept. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) today awarded Martin Marietta Corporation (NYSE: ML) a five-year contract to manage the EPA's National Data Processing Center and Communications Network.
 Under the award, valued at $302 million, Martin Marietta Technical Services, Inc., will operate several EPA computer centers and provide program management, telecommunications support and supercomputing expertise at EPA locations in North Carolina, Washington, D.C., and Michigan that employ more than 400 personnel.
 Martin Marietta Technical Services will operate and manage both the National Computer Center at the Research Triangle Park in Raleigh, N.C., and the Washington Information Center.
 The Raleigh facility is responsible for administration and operation of business and technical applications to support the EPA throughout the United States, while the Washington facility focuses on the agency's national headquarters requirements.
 Martin Marietta also will be responsible for initiating and managing operations at the EPA's new Bay City, Mich., supercomputer center for processing of scientific applications.

We will continue to pursue those types of programs where we can leverage our experience and resources to meet the needs of our customers," said Young.
 Martin Marietta Technical Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of the corporation, providing information services support and program management, systems development, installation, operation and maintenance and hardware assembly for government and commercial customers. Currently the company employs 700 technical and professional staff at approximately 20 locations worldwide.
